Board Certification Through Eminence
Board Certification through Eminence is a nomination process. Candidates typically submit their full CV for Review before completing and submitting an Eminence Nomination Form.
The Academy is aware that there are a number of Eminent Environmental Engineers and Environmental Scientists who have created enviable careers, but for reasons best known to them they did not seek Board Certification by the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists. Those individuals have generally made significant contributions to the environmental engineering and environmental science professions in academia, consulting, government, the military, and industry
The Academy established the "Certification by Eminence" pathway for induction into the Academy as Board Certified Environmental Engineer (BCEE), Board Certified Environmental Engineering Member (BCEEM), or Board Certified Environmental Scientist (BCES) to identify and recognize highly qualified professionals by virtue the accomplishments of these eminent environmental engineers and environmental scientists. Those persons receiving the credential by eminence are exempted from the oral and written examinations.
