Qualifications: Education. Experience. Responsibility.
Minimum qualifications for Board Certification: Requisite degree and 8 years experience (4 yrs. in responsible charge). Certified Environmental Engineer (CEE): environmental engineering or related engineering degree.
Verification: Expertise. Skills. Ethics.
Applicants with fewer than 16 years experience sit for a written examination and a oral examination in selected specialty area. Those with 16 or more years of experience may request a waiver of the written examination. Engineering Specialties: Air Pollution, Environmental Sustainability, General Environmental, Hazardous Waste Management and Site Remediation, Industrial Hygiene, Radiation Protection, Solid Waste, Water Supply/ Wastewater. Science Specialties: Air Resources; Environmental Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or Toxicology; Groundwater and the Subsurface Environment; Hazardous Waste Management and Site Remediation; Solid Waste Management; Surface Water Resources; Sustainability Science.

The International Communication Association (ICA) has a triple-tiered dues structure following the UN model for A, B, and C countries, based on the World Bank's indicators of Gross National Income. Residents of B-tier countries pay 75% of the A-tier price and residents of C-tier countries pay 50% of the A-tier price.
