Webinar Summary

The first Professional Engineer (PE) license was issued by the State of Wyoming in 1907.  Just 48 years later, in 1955, the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientist was formed. It was originally known as the “American Sanitary Engineering Intersociety Board”, which offered “Diplomate” status to competent sanitary engineers. Today, just a further 68 years later, both the PE and the BCEE/BCES continue to be recognized as standards of excellence in Environmental Engineering and Science.

But how does one gain the education and experience needed to achieve these credentials?  What are the tests actually like, and how does one study effectively?  And then once one has achieved these credentials, what’s needed to stay current in order to maintain them through continuing professional development?

The purpose of this webinar is to “pull back the curtain” – to use a Wizard of Oz metaphor – on the details of the PE and Board Certification.  Of course, these credentials are real, meaningful, and important. Yet they can seem to be shrouded in a bit of mystery for those who may not be familiar.  Join us to learn more about the PE and Board Certification, and how the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists can support you on your journey to demonstrating leadership and excellence in Environmental Engineering and Science through specialty certification.
