Webinar Summary
This webinar will explore the transformative role of drone technology in enhancing landfill operations, focusing on how drones can streamline surveying and management processes. We will discuss how drones are being used to conduct accurate, efficient, and cost-effective surveys of landfill sites.
Key topics will include:
- Surveying and Mapping: Discover how drones, equipped with high-resolution cameras, LiDAR sensors, and GPS technology, along with powerful post-processing software like Propeller, deliver precise topographic data and 3D models. These tools enable quick and accurate volume calculations and effective elevation tracking.
- Thermal and Gas Sniffing: Learn how drones can be outfitted with specialized equipment, such as thermal cameras and gas sniffers, to detect surface hot-spots that indicate insufficient landfill gas collection and surface gas exceedances.
- Cost Savings: Traditional surveying methods are expensive, time-consuming, and reliant on third-party surveyor availability. Drones greatly reduce the need for costly equipment and labor, offering significant savings and greater convenience while also providing a wealth of additional interactive data that traditional methods can’t match.
Webinar Speaker Profile
